The Amber Rule
He cleaned himself up quickly, his body feeling heavy and sore. He made his way upstairs, collapsing onto the bed, his mind racing with images of Ralph, of his hands on his body, his cock inside him. He fell asleep quickly, his dreams filled with pleasure and guilt, a confusing mix of emotions that left him feeling drained and exhausted.
When he woke the next morning, Christy was already gone, her side of the bed cold and empty. Daniel’s heart clenched, his stomach twisting with guilt and shame. He’d betrayed her, betrayed their marriage, their love. And for what? A quick fuck with Ralph, a moment of pleasure that had left him feeling empty and alone.
He made his way downstairs, his body aching, his mind reeling. He needed to talk to Christy, to confess what he’d done, to beg for her forgiveness. But he knew it was too late, that the damage was already done. He’d broken their trust, shattered their marriage, all for a moment of weakness.
He sank down onto the couch, his head in his hands, his body shaking with sobs. He’d ruined everything, thrown away twenty years of love and commitment for a quick fuck with a man he barely knew. And now he had to live with the consequences, with the knowledge that he’d betrayed the one person he loved more than anything in the world.
He didn’t know how long he sat there, lost in his misery, but when the front door finally opened, he looked up, his heart pounding in his chest. Christy stood in the doorway, her auburn hair messy, her clothes rumpled, the amber pendant glinting at her throat. She took one look at him, at the devastation on his face, and her eyes widened, her hand coming up to cover her mouth.
“Daniel?” she asked, her voice small and uncertain. “What’s wrong?”
Daniel stood slowly, his body feeling heavy and old. “I cheated on you, Ev,” he said, his voice rough with emotion. “I slept with Ralph last night, while you were out with him. I’m so sorry, baby. I’m so fucking sorry.”
Christy’s face crumpled, her eyes filling with tears. “How could you?” she asked, her voice breaking. “How could you do this to us, to our marriage?”
Daniel shook his head, his own eyes filling with tears. “I don’t know,” he said, his voice rough with shame. “I was weak, Ev. I gave in to temptation, to my own selfish desires. I ruined everything, and I’ll never forgive myself.”
Christy nodded, a single tear sliding down her cheek. “I can’t do this, Daniel,” she said, her voice small and broken. “I can’t be with you, not after this. Not after you betrayed me like this.”
Daniel’s heart shattered in his chest, his body sagging with despair. “I understand,” he said, his voice rough with pain. “I’ll pack my things and go. You’ll never have to see me again.”
Christy nodded, her gaze falling to the floor. “Just go, Daniel,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “Please, just go.”
Daniel nodded, his heart breaking into a million pieces. He turned away, making his way upstairs to pack his things. He threw some clothes into a suitcase, his movements mechanical, his mind numb with pain. When he made his way back downstairs, Christy was waiting for him by the door, her arms crossed over her chest, her eyes red and swollen.
He stopped in front of her, his suitcase at his feet. “I’m sorry, Ev,” he said, his voice rough with emotion. “I’m so fucking sorry. I love you, more than anything in the world. And I’ll never forgive myself for what I’ve done.”
Christy nodded, a single tear sliding down her cheek. “Goodbye, Daniel,” she said, her voice small and broken.
Daniel leaned in, pressing a kiss to her forehead, his lips lingering for a long moment. “Goodbye, Ev,” he murmured, his voice rough with pain.
And then he turned away, picking up his suitcase and making his way out to his car. He climbed behind the wheel, his body feeling heavy and old, his mind reeling with the weight of his actions. He’d lost everything, thrown it all away for a moment of weakness. And now he had to live with the consequences, with the knowledge that he’d destroyed the one good thing in his life.
He started the engine, his gaze fixed on the road ahead. He didn’t know where he was going, what he was going to do. All he knew was that he had to get away, to put as much distance between him and Christy as possible. Because seeing her, knowing what he’d done, what he’d thrown away, was more than he could bear.
He pulled out of the driveway, his heart shattering in his chest. He’d lost her, lost everything. And he had no one to blame but himself.
Christy’s heart raced as she slid into the passenger seat of Ralph’s car, her body still humming with the lingering effects of Daniel’s touch. She could feel the weight of the amber pendant against her skin, a constant reminder of her husband and the love they shared. But as Ralph started the engine, his hand resting lightly on her thigh, she felt a thrill of anticipation run through her, a desire to explore something new and exciting.
The restaurant was small and intimate, with low lighting and plush booths that offered a sense of privacy. Christy slid into the booth across from Ralph, her body tingling with awareness as his knee brushed against hers under the table. “So,” he said, his voice low and seductive. “What made you change your mind about all this?”
Christy’s breath hitched, her fingers coming up to touch the amber pendant at her throat. “I’ve always been curious,” she admitted, her voice soft. “And Daniel and I have always been open and honest with each other. When the opportunity presented itself, we decided to take a chance.”
Ralph’s gaze darkened with desire, his hand sliding up her thigh under the table. “I’m glad you did,” he murmured, his voice rough with promise. “I’ve wanted you for a long time, Ev. Since college, if I’m being honest.”
Christy’s body flushed with heat, her skin prickling with awareness. “I wanted you too,” she whispered, her voice barely audible above the low hum of the restaurant. “But I was always too afraid to take that step. Too afraid of what it would mean for my marriage.”
Ralph’s hand slid higher, his fingers brushing the edge of her panties. “And now?” he asked, his voice low and seductive. “Are you still afraid?”
Christy’s breath hitched, her body arching into his touch. “No,” she gasped, her voice rough with desire. “I’m not afraid anymore. I want this, Ralph. I want you.”
Ralph’s eyes darkened with satisfaction, his fingers slipping under the edge of her panties to brush against her wet heat. “Good,” he murmured, his voice low and rough. “Because I’m going to give you exactly what you want, Ev. I’m going to make you feel things you’ve never felt before.”
Ralph’s hand slid under the table, his fingers brushing her thigh. “Then let’s finish up here and get out of here,” he murmured, his voice low and rough. “I have a feeling this is going to be a night to remember.”
Christy’s body thrilled at his touch, her skin prickling with awareness. She glanced at Daniel, who gave her a small nod, his blue eyes dark with desire. “Let’s go,” she said, her voice breathless with anticipation. “I’m ready.”
They barely made it inside the door of Ralph’s house before he was on her, his hands tangling in her hair as he kissed her deeply. Christy moaned into his mouth, her body arching into his, her hands sliding down his back to grip his ass. “Ralph,” she gasped, her voice rough with desire. “Please.”
He chuckled, his lips trailing down her neck, his teeth grazing her skin. “Please what, Ev?” he murmured, his voice low and seductive. “Tell me what you want.”
Christy shivered, her body trembling with need. “I want you,” she gasped, her voice breaking. “I want you inside me.”
Ralph growled, his hands sliding down her body to cup her ass, lifting her up. She wrapped her legs around his waist, her arms twining around his neck as he carried her up the stairs to his bedroom. He set her down on the bed, his body covering hers, his erection pressing into her hip. “You have me,” he murmured, his voice rough with promise. “I’m all yours, Ev. For as long as you want me.”
He kissed her again, his tongue sliding into her mouth, tasting her, claiming her. Christy melted into him, her body pliant and willing, her hands sliding under his shirt to explore the smooth skin of his back. He broke the kiss long enough to pull his shirt over his head, revealing the broad expanse of his chest, the defined muscles of his abs.
