The Keeper of the Lighthouse
I gasp as his teeth graze my collarbone, the sharp sting sending sparks of pleasure straight to my core. My hands fist in his hair, pulling him closer even as a small voice in the back of my mind whispers that this is madness. But the voice is drowned out by the roar of my pulse, the electric hum of his touch.
Elias kisses me deeply, his tongue sweeping into my mouth with claiming intensity. I arch into him, craving more, needing to feel him everywhere. His hands slip under my shirt, skimming over the sensitive skin of my stomach before sliding upward to cup my breasts. I moan into his mouth as his thumbs brush over my nipples, the sensation almost painfully acute.
“Please,” I pant, breaking the kiss to drag in a shaky breath. “Elias, I need—”
“I know what you need,” he rasps, his eyes dark with desire. “I can feel it in every tremor of your body, every hitch of your breath. You need to be filled, to be claimed. To surrender completely.”
His words send a shudder through me, a delicious thrill that borders on fear. Because I know he’s right. I want to give myself over to him, to let him take control and show me the heights of pleasure he’s promised.
Elias strips my clothes away with deft, unhurried movements, his gaze raking over my bare skin like a physical touch. I feel exposed, vulnerable, but also fiercely alive under his intense scrutiny. He sheds his own clothes just as efficiently, and I swallow hard at the sight of him—all lean muscle and pale, flawless skin, his erection jutting proudly.
He crawls over me, caging me in with his body, and I tremble with anticipation. “Open for me,” he commands, his voice rough with want. I spread my legs, my breath catching as he settles between them, the hot length of him nudging against my slick entrance.
Elias braces himself on his forearms, his face hovering inches above mine. “This is it,” he breathes, his eyes boring into me. “The moment you give yourself to me, body and soul. Are you ready?”
I nod frantically, my body straining toward his. “Yes, yes—please, Elias, now.”
He surges forward, filling me in one deep, powerful thrust. I cry out at the overwhelming sensation—the stretch, the burn, the exquisite fullness. He stills for a moment, allowing me to adjust, but I’m already moving, rocking my hips against his, desperate for more.
Elias begins to move, each stroke measured and deliberate, stoking the fire inside me higher and higher. He’s everywhere—in me, around me, his essence sinking into my very pores. I can feel him not just physically, but on a deeper, more fundamental level, as if our very souls are entwining.
The pleasure builds until it’s almost unbearable, a coiling tension that threatens to shatter me apart. Elias’s thrusts become harder, faster, his control slipping as he chases his own release. He reaches between us, his fingers finding my clit and circling with expert pressure.
“Come for me, Morgan,” he growls, his voice guttural. “Let me feel you come undone on my cock.”
The combination of his words and his touch sends me hurtling over the edge. My orgasm crashes over me in a blinding wave, my body clenching around him as I scream his name. Elias follows a moment later, his release flooding me with liquid heat as he shudders and groans his pleasure.
We collapse together in a tangle of limbs, sweat-slicked and panting. As the aftershocks ripple through me, I feel a strange warmth spreading through my chest—a sense of belonging, of rightness. It’s then that I realize the connection between us has deepened, solidified into something unbreakable.
Elias brushes a tender kiss against my temple, his voice a satisfied purr. “You’re mine now, Morgan,” he murmurs. “Bound to me, body and soul. Forever.”
I nestle closer, a contented sigh escaping me even as a flicker of unease stirs in my gut. Because as much as I crave this closeness, this undeniable bond...I can’t shake the feeling that I may have just made a deal with the devil.
I nestle closer, a contented sigh escaping me even as a flicker of unease stirs in my gut. Because as much as I crave this closeness, this undeniable bond...I can’t shake the feeling that I may have just made a deal with the devil.
But in this moment, with Elias’s arms wrapped around me and the lingering echoes of pleasure thrumming through my veins, it’s easy to push those doubts aside. Easy to believe that this—this connection, this intensity—is worth any price.
I drift in a hazy, sated daze, the line between wakefulness and sleep blurring. Time seems to stretch and contract, moments of lucidity punctuating long stretches of unconsciousness. Each time I surface, Elias is there, his presence a constant comfort.
Until, finally, I wake to the first pale rays of dawn streaking through the high windows. I blink in the soft light, my body aching in the best possible way. I turn, seeking Elias’s warmth, but find only cold sheets beside me.
I sit up, a sudden chill washing over me that has nothing to do with the morning air. “Elias?” I call, my voice rough with sleep.
Silence answers me. I swing my legs out of bed, the stone floor icy beneath my bare feet. Wrapping a sheet around myself, I pad out of the bedroom and into the main chamber of the lantern room.
He’s standing by the great glass lens, his back to me, staring out at the churning sea. There’s a stillness to him that feels…different. Wrong.
“Elias?” I approach him cautiously, a knot of dread tightening in my stomach. “Is everything alright?”
He turns slowly, and I suck in a sharp breath. His dark eyes, usually so full of heat and mischief, are flat. Empty. Like a doll’s eyes.
“Elias, what’s wrong?” I ask, my voice trembling.
He tilts his head, a faint, unnerving smile playing at the corners of his lips. “Nothing is wrong, Morgan,” he says, his tone pleasant but distant. “Everything is exactly as it should be.”
I shake my head, confusion and fear swirling inside me. “I don’t understand. What’s happened?”
“The bargain has been fulfilled,” he says simply. “You gave me what I needed. And now, I have no further use for you.”
His words hit me like a physical blow. “No,” I whisper, stumbling back. “No, you said…you said we would be together. That I was yours.”
“And you are,” he agrees, taking a step toward me. “But not in the way you imagined. You are mine to use. Mine to feed upon.”
Horror crashes over me as the true meaning of his words sinks in. “Feed upon?” I echo, my voice barely audible.
“Did you really think I craved your companionship, Morgan?” He chuckles, the sound cold and hollow. “No. I crave your life. Your vitality. It’s what sustains me, what allows me to maintain this form.”
He gestures to himself, to the beautiful, seductive shell I’d been so drawn to. “Every touch, every kiss, every moment of pleasure we shared…I was drawing from you. Taking the pieces of your soul that you so willingly offered.”
I’m shaking now, tears blurring my vision. “No,” I rasp, backing away. “No, you can’t do this. I won’t let you.”
Elias laughs, a cruel, mocking sound. “It’s already done, Morgan. The bond between us is unbreakable. You are tied to this lighthouse now, just as I am. And every time desire stirs in you, every time you ache for the pleasure I can give…you’ll have no choice but to return to me. To surrender another piece of yourself.”
He takes another step forward, his form flickering like a guttering candle. “It’s a fate you chose, when you accepted my bargain. A fate you’ll endure for eternity, watching helplessly as your life ebbs away, your soul withering to ash.”
I open my mouth to scream, but no sound emerges. The world tilts around me, darkness creeping in at the edges of my vision. The last thing I see before unconsciousness claims me is Elias’s smile, cold and triumphant.
The lighthouse has a new keeper. And I, Morgan Reed, am forever bound to the demon in its walls.
Pour toujours.
