The Last Two in the Building
She meant it. I could see it in her eyes, feel it in the gentle pressure of her fingers. This was Maya – bold, yes, challenging, absolutely, but never at the expense of me. Never pushing past my boundaries. That knowledge, that absolute trust in her, in us, was the anchor I needed.
I took a deep breath, the last shreds of hesitation dissolving. “I’m sure,” I said, my voice low but steady. “I want this. With you. Here.” A nervous laugh escaped me. “Though I reserve the right to be moderately embarrassed about it tomorrow.”
Maya laughed then, a full, rich sound that echoed in the quiet space. “Embarrassed? Oh, Leo, by tomorrow you’ll be bragging about it.” Her eyes sparkled with mischief and promise. She stepped back then, just slightly, her hands going to her hips. “Now. About those perfectly drawn lines of yours…”
She didn’t finish the sentence. Instead, she reached up, her fingers finding the zipper at the side of her cobalt dress. The sound of it, metallic and precise, seemed incredibly loud in the hushed office. My breath caught. She slid the zipper down slowly, revealing a sliver of smooth, golden-brown skin. The fabric parted, loosening around her, and with a simple, elegant shrug of her shoulders, the dress slid down her body, pooling at her feet like a puddle of liquid blue.
She stood before me, bathed in the warm light of my desk lamp, wearing nothing but a delicate black lace bra and matching panties. Her skin glowed, smooth and flawless. The sight of her, confident, beautiful, offering herself to me, to this moment, stole the air from my lungs.
“Maya…” Her name was a reverent whisper on my lips.
She stepped out of the dress, leaving it discarded on the floor, a forgotten cerulean shadow. She moved towards me again, her bare feet silent on the polished concrete. She stopped inches away, so close I could feel the heat radiating from her skin, see the slight flush rising on her chest.
“Your turn, Mr. Torres,” she murmured, her fingers finding the top button of my linen shirt. “Let’s see about redrawing some of those lines.” Her eyes met mine, dark and intense. “We go slow. We talk. Anything, *anything* feels off, you say the word. Promise me.”
“I promise,” I breathed, the words barely audible.
Her fingers deftly worked the buttons, one by one, the linen parting easily under her touch. She pushed the shirt off my shoulders, letting it fall to the floor behind me. Her hands were warm on my bare chest, mapping the planes of muscle, tracing the line of my collarbone. I shivered under her touch, my skin prickling with awareness.
“And Leo?” she whispered, her lips brushing against mine, a feather-light touch.
“Mhmm?” I managed, my eyes fluttering closed, my body already responding to her nearness.
“When I say slow…” She nipped lightly at my lower lip, a playful, sharp sting that sent a jolt straight through me. “…I mean *excruciatingly* slow.” Her hand slid down, over my stomach, her fingers toying with the button of my trousers. “Think you can handle that, architect?” Her voice was pure silk, winding around me, pulling me under.
I couldn’t speak. Could only nod, my breath ragged, my entire world narrowing to the feel of her hands, the scent of her skin, the molten promise in her dark eyes. The office, the deadlines, the city outside – it all faded away. There was only Maya, only this moment, only the terrifying, exhilarating leap we were about to take, together.

Her fingers, nimble and sure, made quick work of my belt buckle, the metallic clink echoing softly in the quiet room. The button of my trousers yielded next, then the zipper, its descent a low, insistent rasp. She didn’t rush, her movements deliberate, almost teasing, drawing out the anticipation until it was a physical ache low in my belly. My trousers slid down my hips, pooling at my ankles. I kicked them away, the sound muffled by the rug beneath my desk chair.
She stepped back again, her gaze sweeping over me, a slow, appreciative perusal that felt like a physical caress. I stood before her in just my boxer briefs, the soft cotton doing little to hide my body’s obvious reaction to her, to this. Her eyes lingered there, a small, knowing smile playing on her lips.
“Seems like part of you is definitely on board with this dare,” she murmured, her voice a low purr. She reached out, her fingertips grazing the tented fabric, a feather-light touch that made my breath hitch. “But I need all of you, Leo. Mind, body… and that infuriatingly predictable heart of yours.” Her hand flattened against my chest, right over the pounding rhythm beneath my ribs. “Okay?”
“Okay,” I rasped, the word thick with want. “All of me. Yours.”
Her smile widened, became something softer, warmer. “Good.” She took my hand, guiding me around the drafting table towards the large, low sofa we kept in the corner for client meetings and late-night brainstorming sessions. It was deep and comfortable, upholstered in a rich, dark grey fabric. She pushed me down gently onto it. The leather creaked softly under my weight.
She stood before me, backlit by the glow of the city lights filtering through the large windows. Her lace-clad silhouette was a breathtaking contrast of strength and vulnerability. She reached up, her movements fluid and graceful, and pulled the pins from her hair. The sleek ponytail tumbled down, a cascade of dark silk that fell around her shoulders, framing her face. She shook her head slightly, sending ripples through the glossy strands.
“Better,” she whispered, more to herself than to me.
She knelt on the sofa beside me, the fabric dipping under her weight. Her hands found my shoulders, pushing me back until I was lying flat, my head resting on the plush armrest. She leaned over me, her hair falling around us like a curtain, cocooning us in our own private world. Her lips found mine, soft at first, a gentle exploration, then deeper, hungrier. I could taste the faint mint of her toothpaste, the underlying sweetness that was uniquely Maya. My hands came up, instinctively reaching for her, wanting to pull her closer, to feel her weight on me.
She intercepted them, her fingers wrapping around my wrists, pinning them lightly to the sofa above my head. She broke the kiss, pulling back just enough to meet my eyes. Hers were dark, dilated, filled with a heat that mirrored the inferno building inside me.
“Ah-ah,” she chided softly, her grip on my wrists firm but not painful. “My lead, remember? That means hands to yourself, Mr. Torres. Unless I say otherwise.” Her lips curved into a playful smirk. “Think of it as… expanding your horizons. Learning a new form of… structural support.”
I groaned softly, part in frustration, part in amused exasperation. “Architectural metaphors? Now? Really, Maya?”
She laughed, a low, throaty sound that vibrated through her and into me where her body pressed against mine. “Always, love. Now…” She shifted, her thighs parting to straddle my hips, the delicate lace of her panties scraping lightly against my sensitized skin. “…let’s see about those horizons.”
She released my wrists, trailing her hands down my arms, over my shoulders, her nails scraping lightly, leaving trails of fire in their wake. Her touch was everywhere – tracing the line of my collarbone, skimming over my nipples, which hardened instantly under her fingertips, down the centreline of my stomach, making the muscles there jump and flutter. She touched me like she was memorizing me, like she was mapping every inch of my skin, claiming it as her own. And I let her, my hands fisting in the sofa fabric beside me, anchoring myself against the torrent of sensation.
Her lips followed the path her hands had taken, hot and open, leaving a trail of wet, sucking kisses down my neck, over my chest. She paused at my left nipple, her tongue laving the tight peak, her teeth grazing it lightly, sending a jolt of pure electricity straight to my groin. I arched beneath her, a low moan escaping my lips.
“Maya…” I gasped, my voice strangled.
“Shhh,” she murmured against my skin, her breath cool against the heat she’d ignited. “I’ve got you.” Her hands slid lower, hooking into the waistband of my boxer briefs. She tugged them down, carefully freeing my erection, which sprang free, hard and aching, laying heavily against my lower belly. She rid me of the briefs entirely, tossing them carelessly to the floor.
