Midnight Run
I stroke him slowly. Liam's eyes roll back. "Ava, please."
I smile. "Please what?"
Liam groans. "Please, I need you. I need to be inside you."
I release him, straddling his hips. Liam guides me down onto his cock. I gasp as he fills me. We move together, our bodies finding a rhythm.
"Come for me," he growls. "Come for me, Ava."
I shatter around him. Liam follows, his cock pulsing inside me. We collapse together, our bodies slick with sweat.
"I love you," he whispers.
I smile. "I love you too."
We lie there, our bodies intertwined. And in that moment, I know we'll always have each other.
Always.
The clock on the wall reads 6:03 AM. Liam and I sit at the kitchen table, hands intertwined. John's expression is grim.
"We've got a problem," he says, voice low. "My FBI contacts aren't responding. Something's wrong."
A chill runs down my spine. "What do you mean?"
John sighs. "I think Hawkins got to them. He knows we're onto him."
Liam's jaw clenches. "What now?"
John leans forward, eyes intense. "We move fast. Get this evidence out before Hawkins stops us."
I nod, heart pounding. "How?"
John produces a flash drive. "Copies of everything. We need to get this to every major news outlet."
Liam takes it, eyes narrowing. "And Hawkins?"
John nods. "We confront him. Get him on record admitting everything."
I feel a surge of fear. "That's dangerous. He's already tried to kill us."
John meets my gaze. "I know. But it's the only way."
Liam stands, jaw set. "Okay. Let's do it."
The clock on the dashboard reads 8:17 AM. We drive toward Hawkins' office, the flash drive burning in my pocket. Liam is beside me.
"I'm scared," I admit.
He takes my hand. "We're in this together. We'll face him together."
I draw strength from his words. "What if he doesn't confess?"
Liam's eyes darken. "Then we'll make him. Whatever it takes."
We arrive at Hawkins' office. The receptionist recognizes us. "You can't be here."
Liam steps forward, voice low and dangerous. "Tell him we're here. Tell him we have evidence."
She hesitates, then calls. "Senator Hawkins will see you."
We follow her to his office. Hawkins sits behind his desk, face twisted with anger. "What the hell are you doing?"
Liam steps forward, calm. "We have evidence. Bribes, murder... we have it all."
Hawkins pales. "I don't know what you're talking about."
Liam pulls out the flash drive. "Emails, bank statements, photographs. Everything we need."
Hawkins stands, fists clenched. "You think you can threaten me?"
Liam steps closer. "We don't need to threaten you. The truth is threat enough."
Hawkins' eyes dart between us. "What do you want?"
"Confess to everything," Liam demands.
Hawkins laughs bitterly. "And if I don't?"
Liam's voice is cold. "We go to the press. Destroy you."
Hawkins calculates. "Fine. I'll confess. But I want Ava to write the story."
I surge with anger. "You don't get to make demands."
Hawkins smirks. "I still have power. If you want my confession, you'll do as I say."
I glance at Liam. He nods, jaw tight.
"Fine," I say coldly. "I'll write it. But you'll confess to everything."
Hawkins nods, satisfied. "Deal."
The clock reads 9:02 AM. We sit in Hawkins' office, recorder on the desk. Hawkins looks pale.
"I want immunity," he says tightly.
Liam shakes his head. "No deal. You'll go to prison."
Hawkins' eyes flash. "Then no confession."
I lean forward. "You're not in a position to make demands. You're going to prison regardless."
Hawkins calculates, then slumps. "Fine. I'll confess. But protect my family."
Liam glances at me. I nod. "We'll do what we can," he says.
Hawkins nods. "Okay. I'll tell you everything."
And he does. Bribes, kickbacks, murder. Names of accomplices.
When he finishes, Liam stops the recorder. "Thank you, Senator."
Hawkins looks weary. "What now?"
Liam stands, hand on my back. "Now, we go to the press. Tell the world."
Hawkins closes his eyes. "I suppose I deserve this."
Liam guides me out. We walk to the car, flash drive in hand.
"We did it," I whisper.
Liam wraps his arm around me. "Now, we finish this."
I lean into him. "Together."
The clock on the dashboard reads 10:15 AM. We drive toward the news station. Liam is beside me.
"I'm proud of you, Ava," he says. "You faced Hawkins. Got him to confess."
I smile. "We did it together. We're a team."
Liam squeezes my hand. "Always."
We arrive at the bustling station. The receptionist recognizes us. "Ava Sinclair. We've been expecting you."
I raise an eyebrow. "You have?"
She nods. "We got a tip. About Hawkins. About your evidence."
I glance at Liam. "Who?"
She shrugs. "Anonymous. We've been trying to reach you."
I nod. "We're here now. We have the evidence. A confession."
Her eyes widen. "A confession? From Hawkins?"
I nod. "On tape."
She calls the news director. We wait, hands linked. The director arrives, ushers us in.
"I'm Robert Thompson," he says. "You have evidence against Hawkins?"
I nod, producing the flash drive. "Emails, statements, photos. And a confession."
Robert's eyes widen. "A confession? From Hawkins?"
I nod. "He admitted everything."
Robert sits back, grim. "This is big, Ava. Are you sure?"
"I'm sure," I say steadily. "The public deserves the truth."
Robert nods. "Okay. Let's get to work."
The clock reads 12:47 PM. We're in the newsroom, surrounded by reporters. Liam is beside me.
Robert addresses the room. "Ava Sinclair has uncovered evidence of corruption and murder at the highest levels."
Reporters clamor. Robert silences them, turns to me. "Ava, can you tell us more?"
I stand, notes in hand. Liam squeezes my fingers.
I take a breath. "I have evidence Senator Hawkins took bribes. When his aide threatened to expose him, Hawkins had him killed."
The room erupts. Robert holds up a hand.
"Ava, how did you obtain this evidence?"
I explain my investigation, witnessing the murder, escaping with Liam's help. "Together, we uncovered the truth."
Robert thanks me. I sit, heart pounding. Liam takes my hand.
"You did it, Ava," he whispers. "You exposed the truth."
I smile. "We did it, Liam. Together."
The clock on the dashboard reads 2:30 PM. We drive toward the cabin.
"I'm proud of you, Ava," Liam says. "You faced Hawkins. Told the truth."
I smile. "We did it together. We're a team."
Liam nods. "Always."
We arrive at the cabin. Liam leads me inside, to the couch. "I love you, Ava," he whispers.
I smile. "I love you too, Liam."
We sit intertwined. I admit my fears about the future. Liam reassures me.
We make love on the couch, slow and sensual. Afterward, we lie together.
"I love you, Ava," he whispers.
"I love you too, Liam."
We drift off, bodies intertwined. Always.
The clock reads 3:00 AM. I lie in bed, Liam's arms around me. The day's events replay.
Liam stirs. "You okay?"
"Just thinking," I say. "About the future."
Liam's thumb strokes my cheek. "We'll face it together."
I nod. "I know."
"I love you, Ava," he whispers.
"I love you too, Liam."
Our love will endure. Always.
The clock on the nightstand reads 8:00 AM. Sunlight streams through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room. Liam stirs beside me, his arm tightening around my waist.
"Morning, beautiful," he murmurs, his voice rough with sleep.
I smile, turning in his arms to face him. "Morning."
He brushes a strand of hair from my face, his touch gentle. "Did you sleep okay?"
I nod. "Better than I have in a long time."
He smiles, leaning in to press a soft kiss to my lips. "Me too."
We lie there for a moment, basking in the quiet peace of the morning. For the first time in weeks, we're not running, not hiding, not afraid.
"It's over," I whisper, my voice filled with wonder. "It's really over."
Liam nods, his eyes soft. "We did it, Ava. We brought Hawkins to justice. We cleared our names."
I smile, my heart swelling with pride. "We make a pretty good team, don't we?"
Liam grins, rolling on top of me. "The best."
He kisses me deeply, his hands roaming my body. I wrap my arms around his neck, pulling him closer.
"I love you, Liam," I whisper against his lips.
"I love you too, Ava," he murmurs back. "More than anything."
We make love slowly, savoring each touch, each kiss. Afterwards, we lie tangled together, our hearts beating in sync.
"So what now?" I ask, my head resting on his chest.
Liam shrugs, his fingers tracing patterns on my skin. "Whatever we want. The world is ours for the taking."
I smile, my mind racing with possibilities. "I could write a book. Tell our story."
Liam nods, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "And I could start my own security firm. Help people like us."
I grin, my heart soaring. "We could do it together. Partners in every way."
Liam leans down, kissing me softly. "I like the sound of that."
I close my eyes, letting the happiness wash over me. For so long, my life was consumed by danger and fear. But now, with Liam by my side, I feel like I can take on anything.
"We'll have to testify at Hawkins' trial," I say, my voice soft. "But after that..."
"After that, we're free," Liam finishes, his voice firm. "Free to live our lives, to love each other, to be happy."
I smile, my heart full. "I can't wait."
Liam grins, rolling us over so I'm straddling his hips. "Neither can I, Ava. Neither can I."
And as we lose ourselves in each other once more, I know that whatever the future holds, we'll face it together. Liam and me, against the world.
Always.
