The Velvet Hour
He let himself settle into the rhythm of walking, the skirt swishing softly around his legs, the blouse fluttering against his chest. There was a freedom in it—a liberation in being seen, in owning this new version of himself.
“How are you feeling?” Morgan asked quietly, their hand brushing lightly against his arm.
“Strange,” Leo admitted, a small laugh escaping his lips. “But also… kind of amazing. Like I’m finally letting myself be who I’ve always wanted to be.”
“That’s the magic of finding the right clothes,” Morgan said, their voice warm with affection. “They’re not just fabric and thread. They’re a way to express who you are on the inside.”
Leo nodded, his heart full. “I never thought I could feel this way,” he murmured. “This… confident. This powerful.”
“It’s always been inside you,” Morgan said, their hand finding his, their fingers intertwining. “You just needed a little help to let it out.”
They walked in silence for a few more minutes, the city lights twinkling around them like stars. Leo felt a sense of peace settle over him—a bone-deep certainty that he was exactly where he was meant to be.
“Thank you,” he said softly, his voice thick with emotion. “For this. For believing in me.”
“Always,” Morgan vowed, squeezing his hand. “I’ll always believe in you, Leo. No matter what.”
They turned a corner, the boutique coming into view once more. Leo felt a pang of disappointment—*I’m not ready for this to end,* he realized. *I’m not ready to go back to being the old me.*
As if sensing his thoughts, Morgan slowed to a stop, turning to face him. “You know,” they said slowly, a glint of mischief in their eye, “we don’t have to call it a night just yet. What do you say we take this outfit for a spin somewhere a little more… private?”
Leo’s breath caught in his throat, his pulse leaping. “Private?” he echoed, his voice barely above a whisper.
“My loft is just a few blocks from here,” Morgan murmured, their gaze hot on his. “Plenty of space to… explore. To really let yourself feel these clothes on your skin.”
Leo swallowed hard, his mouth suddenly dry. *Morgan’s loft. Just the two of us. In this outfit.* The idea sent a shiver down his spine—a heady mix of nerves and anticipation.
“Yes,” he breathed, the word escaping on a rush of exhale. “Yes, let’s do that.”
Leo’s heart hammered against his ribs as he followed Morgan down the sidewalk, the soft click of their heels against the pavement a steady counterpoint to the frantic beat of his pulse. *Private. Their loft. Just the two of us.* The words echoed in his mind, a tantalizing promise and a terrifying unknown.
Morgan’s loft was only a few blocks away, but to Leo, each step felt like crossing a threshold. The city lights blurred past him, the world narrowing to the warmth of Morgan’s hand in his, the swish of the skirt around his legs, the flutter of the silk blouse against his skin.
They stopped outside an unassuming brick building, Morgan unlocking the front door with a quick turn of their key. The lobby was small but elegant, with gleaming hardwood floors and abstract art on the walls. Leo followed them up a narrow staircase, his heart in his throat.
“This is me,” Morgan said, pushing open a heavy wooden door at the top of the stairs. They stepped inside, flicking on a light, and Leo’s breath caught in his chest.
The loft was a revelation—high ceilings, exposed brick walls, huge windows that looked out over the city skyline. The space was open and airy, with a sleek, modern kitchen in one corner, a cozy seating area in another, and a large bed draped in soft, gauzy fabric in the far corner.
“Make yourself comfortable,” Morgan murmured, shrugging off their trench coat and tossing it over the back of a chair. “Can I get you a drink? I have a lovely bottle of red I’ve been saving for a special occasion.”
“A drink would be perfect,” Leo said, his voice husky with nerves. He set down the bag containing his old clothes, his fingers trembling slightly.
Morgan smiled, their dark eyes glinting in the low light. “One glass of liquid courage, coming right up.”
They moved to the kitchen, their movements fluid and graceful as they uncorked a bottle and poured two glasses of deep ruby liquid. Leo watched them, his heart still pounding, his palms slick with sweat.
*What are we doing here?* he wondered, his thoughts racing. *What do they want from me? What do I want from them?*
Morgan returned with the glasses, pressing one into Leo’s hand. “To new beginnings,” they murmured, raising their own glass in a toast.
“To new beginnings,” Leo echoed, his voice barely above a whisper.
They each took a sip, the wine rich and smooth on Leo’s tongue. He felt the warmth of it spread through his chest, a little of the tension easing from his shoulders.
Morgan set their glass down on a nearby table, their gaze never leaving Leo’s. “You look stunning in that outfit,” they said softly, their voice low and intimate. “But I can’t help but think… it’s missing something.”
“Missing something?” Leo echoed, his brows furrowing. “What do you mean?”
Morgan’s lips curved into a slow, sensual smile. “I mean,” they purred, stepping closer, “that I have a few more pieces I think you might like. Ones that are a little more… intimate.”
Leo’s breath caught in his throat, his pulse leaping. “Intimate?” he whispered.
“Mm-hmm,” Morgan murmured, their fingers brushing against the collar of his blouse. “Something soft and lacy, perhaps. Something that will make you feel… exquisitely yourself.”
Leo swallowed hard, his mouth suddenly dry. *Lingerie. They want me to wear lingerie.* The idea sent a jolt of heat through his veins, a heady mix of nerves and desire.
“Will you let me show you?” Morgan asked, their voice a low, seductive whisper.
Leo nodded, unable to speak, his heart pounding so hard he was sure Morgan could hear it.
“Good,” Morgan purred, taking his hand and leading him toward the bed. “Wait here.”
They disappeared behind a rice paper screen in the corner, returning a moment later with a few delicate pieces draped over their arm. Leo’s eyes widened as he took them in—a lace-trimmed slip in the same ivory as his blouse, a pair of silk stockings, a garter belt with satin ribbons.
“You don’t have to wear any of it if you don’t want to,” Morgan murmured, laying the pieces out on the bed. “But I thought they might make you feel… complete. Like the fullest version of yourself.”
Leo reached out, his fingers trembling as he brushed them over the lacy edge of the slip. The fabric was impossibly soft, the lace delicate and intricate. *What would it feel like against my skin?* The thought sent a shiver down his spine.
“Let me help you,” Morgan whispered, stepping close behind him. Their hands came to rest on his shoulders, warm and steady, as they guided him to face the mirror atop the dresser.
Leo watched, his breath coming fast and shallow, as Morgan’s fingers went to the buttons of his blouse. They worked them free one by one, the silk sliding over his shoulders, down his arms, until it pooled at his feet.
He stood before the mirror in only the skirt, his chest bare, his skin flushed and sensitive. Morgan’s hands moved to the zipper at his side, tugging it down with a soft rasp. The skirt fell away, joining the blouse on the floor.
Leo squeezed his eyes shut, a wave of vulnerability washing over him. *I’m exposed,* he thought, his heart pounding. *Raw. Bare.*
“Look at yourself,” Morgan murmured, their hands sliding over his hips, their touch gentle and reassuring. “Look at how beautiful you are.”
Leo opened his eyes, his gaze meeting his own in the mirror. His cheeks were flushed, his chest rising and falling with each shaky breath. But there was something else there, too—a glimmer of something new, something powerful.
“You’re magnificent,” Morgan whispered, their lips brushing against his ear. “Every inch of you.”
They reached for the lacy slip, holding it out for him to step into. Leo did, his legs trembling slightly as the delicate fabric slid up his body, settling over his hips, against his chest.
The lace was soft and cool against his skin, the silk smooth and clinging. He watched in the mirror as Morgan’s hands moved over him, adjusting the straps, smoothing the fabric.
Next came the stockings, the silk whispering against his legs as Morgan rolled them up, securing them with the garter belt. Each touch of their fingers sent sparks dancing across his skin, heat pooling low in his belly.
“There,” Morgan murmured, stepping back to admire their handiwork. “Now you’re complete.”
